The NIGHT LIGHT Series took both of us working together, at night, moving a flashlight as the source to outline and enliven patterns and textures.

The flashlight slid over surfaces, finding shapes which served to elongate, shorten, turn, bend and overlap. The simple flashlight led to discovery: as one of us took photographs, the other led the way, letting the light dance through surface, pattern, and texture which folded into entirely new forms.

Sam's eye led the way to new discoveries and new combinations in this series. Peggy watched what he was doing and recorded with still and moving pictures. Each communicating with different tools toward a single end, which then became clear later, back in the studio.
